Level 5 extra attack doesn't stack with level 5 monk extra attack so its worthless. Battlemaster doesn't work with punching and eldritch knight can but now you need DEX+INT+WIS+CON ability scores to be good which wew. Level 3 the only useful thing would be champion to crit on 19s and that was your entire subclass. Level 2 gets you action surge so woo something useful - but it took 2 levels to get something you can use once per rest. You get second wind, which is a bonus action to heal that only scales with fighter level and conflicts with other monk actions as they cost a bonus action. If you want to wear heavy armor your AC will be better but likely most monk unique armor will be clothing so it works with unarmored defense. They don't really synergize well cause they have overlapping features and stuff that doesn't synergize with eachother well.įor example fighter 1 gives you armor and weapons while monk likes to punch and has better AC not wearing armor.
